Janzen Estate

I am still firmly committed to the virtues of blending, but I have been tempted to produce Cabernet Sauvignon in its purest form. The quality of the parsimonious crop of our Estate Vineyard in 2004 surpassed my expectations and the 'purist' in me insisted that we bottle it as a vineyard -designate Cabernet Sauvignon, appropriately entitled 'Cloudy's Vineyard'.
 In the past, we have used most of our 'To Kalon' fruit in our Bacio Divino blend. In 2004, I was sufficiently impressed with the individuality and 'terroir' of the fruit that we decided to create another single–vineyard designate Cabernet from a portion of our yield.

Our customers' positive reactions to the above vineyard Cabernets motivated us to release a 2005 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, composed of selected lots from our best Cabernet vineyards.
