Lucie —Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Although the sound of her name conjures up images of that famed redhead stomping on grapes, the namesake of this vineyard is not renowned and is closer to home.
Like most oenophiles, we have swooned over a magnificent bottle of Burgundy. As the years pass, our list of 'favorite' California Pinot Noir producers keeps growing. We did not have a definite plan to expand our portfolio to include a Pinot Noir, but when opportunity knocked, we answered. In 2009 we were fortunate to obtain Russian River fruit from the Bacigalupi Vineyard.

Lucie —Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir
Good things come in small parcels! Our contract for the Widdoes Vineyard from Dutton Ranch is anything but extensive and we cherish every grape. Located in Green Valley within the Russian River Valley AVA in western Sonoma County, this vineyard was planted in 1990 with Pommard clones. With an eastern exposure, this is a vineyard that is slow to ripen.
With ideal growing conditions for the Pinot Noir varietal, we are looking forward to a bright future with this fruit. The 2012 vintage is our first from this vineyard. Look for soft but lush fruit and a backbone of cola and cherry with a rich creamy mouthfeel.
