2013 was a great vintage in our Valley with smaller yields offering intense flavors. Our latest offering of Janzen Napa Valley Cabernet showcases the characteristics of the vineyards from which this wine was produced.
Hillside fruit from our estate provides the structure and body necessary for longevity. The finesse offered by Cabernet grown on the valley floor in Rutherford and Oakville tames the power of this wine and maintains the elegance we have come to expect.
JamesSuckling.com, January 2016
Lots of blackberry and black currant aromas with spice and walnut undertones. Full body, yet reserved and silky with fine tannins and a medium finish. Some 2013 magic in this.
Wine Enthusiast, June 2016
A potpourri of dried sage, gunpowder, black pepper and leather provide a robust, full-bodied and brawny experience in this wine crafted from vineyards across the valley. It has black fruit flavors and a savory personality wrapped in big, sturdy tannins that should mellow in due time. Drink now through 2023. Cellar Selection. -V.B
