2014 Lucie Dutton Ranch Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

Buried deep in a cooler sub-AVA of Russian River called Green Valley, the Dutton Ranch ‘Widdoes Vineyard’ receives an extended hang-time before picking. While still picked at optimal ripeness the lengthier time on the vines allows for exceptional complexity and adds to the cellaring potential of this wine.

Rich cola and an abundance of pomegranate, cherry and plum exude from the glass immediately after opening, releasing to secondary notes of baking spice and nice floral aromas. With a rich creamy mouth feel, this wine expands quickly on the palate yet maintains a fresh acidity in the finish. Subtle oak will integrate over time promising good years of life in this wine.

Wine Enthusiast, October 2016
Rating: 92
Light, clear and softly crafted to highlight dried herb and cranberry tea, this is a rounded, approachably complex wine, a nice representative of the vintage, warm and easy. Peppery cola closes things out with length and grace.
