This iconic family’s estate vineyard site is in the Russian River AVA. Planted on alluvial soils close to the river, this vineyard ripens fairly quickly, and is generally our earliest pick of the season. Red berry fruit aromas jump from the glass, with hints of herbals grassy notes behind. A very rich mouthfeel, loaded with fruit and forest floor character express a truly California styled Pinot Noir. A long finish hints at the layers of complexity we expect to come to the forefront with moderate ageing.
Wine Enthusiast, November 2017
Cranberry, rhubarb and allspice combine effortlessly in the well-made, memorable red. Silky on the palate, it shows a refinement of character and robust grasp of dark spicy notes that betray a baked, brooding quality of balanced richness. On the finish is a refreshing seasoning of orange zest. V.B.
