Our latest vintage of Janzen Napa Valley Cabernet unites the unique mountain character of our estate fruit with the finesse offered by Cabernet from Rutherford and Oakville. 2017 was a very small harvest, yet the resulting fruit was very concentrated and dynamic. We picked on the earlier side, and we expect 2017 to develop as a more classic and balanced vintage. The tannins, acidity and fruit all play their parts without any one of them dominating the show.
Praise for our previous vintage, 2016 Janzen Cab:
Wine Enthusiast, April 2019
Sanguine in style, this is earthy and tart in red currant, blueberry and a richness of graham cracker, the minerality a mix of iron and earth. The tannins are substantial yet pillowy, making the palate soft and rich.
