After many years of drought, a pair of wet winters rebuilt the soil water profile. A mild start to the season with a late budbreak and lengthy periods in the goldilocks temperatures without any big heat spikes allowed us to let the fruit hang on the vine for an extended period without risking over-ripening. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis wine is rich and deep in purple hues, with beautiful floral notes that jump from the glass. Layers of cocoa and leather give way to a rich yet elegant burst of black and blue berry fruits. Cocoa powder accents and gravelly tannins frame the full-bodied finish. Claus Janzen, the founder, hails from Canada, while Kyle Janzen, the second generation, is now co-owner and general manager.
